His work and teachings have been a major influence in the world of architecture and design. Rietveld's Universe is a comprehensive publication presenting the results of new insights and research, including contributions by international leading scholars on t he subject. Focusing on the context in which Rietveld's work should be placed, this book addresses his interpretation of space and the way he designed it, as well as the mutual influences between his work and that of contemporaries such as Mondrian, Van Doesburg, Frank Lloyd Wright, Mies van der Rohe, Le Corbusier and Alvar Aalto.
